Justin Cloney
Director of Operations
Justin Cloney served in the British and Australian Navies for over 20 years, operating in theatres spanning the globe in platforms including Nuclear Submarines, Diesel Electric Submarines, Surface Combatants, Replenishment Ships and Amphibious Platforms. His career in Defence provided him with further experience in key leadership roles within multiple headquarters situated across Australia. Serving in a variety of training establishment positions, he had the privilege of providing training and mentoring to people in a broad array of disciplines. Involved in a range of Defence Projects throughout his career, he was a member of the Australian Submarine Agency, delivering AUKUS outcomes, prior to retiring as a Commander.
Justin joined the Actus team as the Operations Manager in 2024, bringing his operational and project experience to a growing and dynamic team. His tenure at Actus has involved the implementation of ISO across the business, the expansion of operations into Adelaide, and an overall review of processes to ensure Actus is ready for increasingly complex projects. In addition to his commitments at Actus, he maintains his links with Defence as an Active Reserve and Nuclear Powered Warship Pilot in the Royal Australian Navy. In his spare time, Justin is a Volunteer Bush Fire Fighter with ten years’ experience.
