Micheal Barnes
Defence Lead
Micheal Barnes served in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) for nearly three decades and has now taken on the role of Defence Lead with Actus. He reached the highest sailor rank of Warrant Officer and deeply understood naval operations and the importance of maintaining defence preparedness. Throughout multiple operational deployments, Micheal has demonstrated strong leadership, effective communication, advanced planning, and problem-solving skills, leading to success in various challenging environments. His dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture has been a cornerstone of his career
Retiring from active service in 2023, Micheal completed a Master's Degree in Project Management. Alongside his academic journey, Micheal has also volunteered his time to assist struggling veterans who find life after a career in the military challenging. Additionally, he is the President of the WA Clearance Diving Association. Through his volunteer work, Micheal has been able to monitor the mental health of many individuals and provide clear pathways for them to regain control of their lives. Micheal uses his 30 years of defence attributes to show loyalty and trust in both his work and personal life. Micheal enjoys exercise of all types and is eager for new daily challenges.
